Get to Know Me

I am a naturally curious person, fascinated with people’s stories, their upbringing, their challenges, and their triumphs. My interests have varied, but the obvious path for me was working directly with people. I found myself drawn to the social worker’s role, as this person seemed best able to understand the multitude of psychological, emotional, and environmental influences on individuals. This aligned with my own curious, nonjudgmental, and strengths-focused nature. Since the onset of my career as a social worker and therapist, I have worked in nonprofit settings with very vulnerable populations, including children who have been abused and neglected, individuals struggling with substance abuse, and survivors of trauma. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; I believe that treatment should be individualized to best meet a person’s needs. As a result, techniques from a variety of modalities of therapy may be utilized throughout a person’s treatment.
